Oh I do like to be beside the seaside!
The first time that the bride got in touch with me, I thought it was a joke: “I’m from Piedmont but I’d like to get married by the sea in Veneto” – “Is that doable?”, I thought. Well it turns out, yes, it was. And they chose me to plan the whole event.
The weather was not on our side and a big storm hit the night before the wedding, causing a certain amount of worry and negativity about what would await us the following day. But, the sun came out to accompany the bride.
It was a small, intimate wedding, with a touching ceremony far from the crowded beaches, in a quiet area home to just two thatched huts, or casoni, typical of the Venetian lagoon. After the ceremony, this is where the celebrations began with a small buffet and then off they went by boat to Caorle, a small fishing town nearby.
Every detail had to be sea themed, from the wedding stationery, designed by Make a Cake, to the music – a crucial part of the whole day, masterfully conducted by DJ Enrico Sist. A selection of sea-themed songs entertained the guests at the ceremony on the beach, during the boat trip and throughout the evening celebrations at the restaurant Ai Casoni: the perfect ending to an emotional day packed with excitement.
